Anshuman Singh [EEE 98] [BLR]

Anshuman, has been in the field of Software Product Development for last six years. He currently works for a company called NetContinuum, in the field of application security. Prior to joining NetContinuum, he was with WIPRO, which he had joined after his graduation. He is yet to form his company :-)

Anshuman has been involved in multiple projects related to IT and BHU for past three years. He was one of the initial members of the ITBHU.org team.

Some of his projects include

  • Assisting the Institute in setting up the official ITBHU website - www.itbhu.ac.in
  • Assisting BHU with its official website - www.bhu.ac.in
Currently he is working on the following projects for the alumni organisation.

Anshuman is also a member of the core working group of ITBHU.org, which is responsible for the overall management of the alumni website, www.itbhu.org. He has been instrumental in setting up the alumni registration facility and is currently working on various enhancements to provide a rich set of facilities to the alumni community.

Apart from working for ITBHU.org, Anshuman is the primary liason with the Institute for varoius alumni projects and is currently involved in building a team of students  at the Institute (called Team@Institute) which will be the representatives of the alumni organisation in the institute and would be instrumental in the implementation of various alumni projects.

He is also one of the coordinators of the Bangalore chapter of ITBHU.org

Anshuman is married and lives in Bangalore with his familiy.


Arvind Gupta [ECE 92] [Delhi]

Arvind Gupta graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering from the Institute of technology, Banaras Hindu University. He then completed his Masters in Computer Science and MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA.

Arvind has worked for companies such as Citibank, Oracle Corporation – USA and management consulting firm of Ernst & Young – USA. He is on the board of directors of apnacard.com and e-enable technologies, New Delhi.

He is currently the CEO of the e-enable technologies, which is a high growth IT Services Firm located in Delhi and has business partnerships with IBM, SSA Global and Hyperion. He is a member of TIE, and NASSCOM, where he leads many key industry initiatives.

Arvind has been instrumental in setting up the various IT BHU Alumni forums and chapters in India and has been leading the Alumni-Industry-Institute activities. Currently he is actively involved with the Delhi chapter.


Debashish Bhattacharyya [MEC 82] [DEL]

Debashish graduated in 1982 from IT BHU, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After his graduation he worked for BHEL from 1982 to 1989 and was with Escorts - Motorcycle & Scooters Division from 1989 to 1992. Thereafter Debashish joined Siemens Information Systems Limited where he has been working since.

During his stay in BHEL and Escorts, Debashish was working in the field of CNC Engineering.

While in Siemens, Debashish has worked as pre-sales consultant in manufacturing, consultant for MRP II, Project Manager for SAP Projects, Head of SAP Consulting for Northern India, and Head of SAP training. He is working currently as the Project Director for Modernisation of Employees' Provident fund Organisation, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Labour.

Debashish lives in Delhi and is one of the founder members of Association of IT BHU Alumni [AIBA]. For past many years he, along with others in Delhi, has laboured to build the alumni association in the New Delhi Capital region.

Currently Debashish is handling the Alumni Reunion project, which aims to build the processes and infrastructure required for organising annual alumni reunions at the Institute.


Jagadish Bandhole [CSE 95]

Jagadish.jpg Jagadish Bandhole is a dynamic leader and a successful entrepreneur in the technology industry. He is currently the Vice President and CTO at VERITAS Software, one of top 10 software companies in the world. He has been  the key driver of the evolving new IT management paradigms like Utility Computing and Web Services in the IT industry. He has been a key spokesperson for VERITAS in interacting with technologists, Fortune 500 customers, analysts and press.

Jagadish is actively involved in computing industry standards initiatives and is regularly featured as a keynote speaker in prestigious conferences and entrepreneurship seminars. Prior to VERITAS, he was the Founder and CEO of Jareva Technologies, a venture-funded software company, where he successfully pioneered emerging technologies such as server and application provisioning shaping the requirements of the on-demand and utility computing ecosystem. Before leading Jareva, he started and led an E-Services initiative with Hewlett Packard.

In the past, Jagadish has held several leadership positions in engineering and engineering management. Jagadish has a Masters in Computer Science from Indiana University with a strong background in computer architecture, compilers and programming languages. He graduated from IT-BHU with a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science in 1995. He was an early member and a key contributor  to the design and development of Intel 64-bit architecture, operating systems and tools. He has several patents pending in distributed systems and server automation techniques.

Within ITBHU.org Jagadish looks after the responsibilities of a treasurer and is responsible for setting up the online donation module. Currently he is actively persuing the "Digital Library Project" for the IT Libaray.

Jagadish and his wife live in Silicon Valley. He is an active charter member of the well-known entrepreneur organization TIE. He is involved in mentoring and advising many technology start-ups. During his free time, he enjoys playing music, hiking and biking.


Pramod Joshi [ECE 79] [Delhi]

Pramod Joshi is Managing Director, Syncata (India) Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Syncata, Inc., USA, a software services company with offices in Los Angeles, Irvine, Detroit and NOIDA. Prior to taking up the current position with Syncata India, Mr. Joshi was Director of Sales at Syncata, Inc. at Los Angeles. He was responsible for marketing, sales and business development and was instrumental in developing business with various clients like Intel, American Honda Motors, IBM Global Services, Actuate, MSS Global, etc.

Prior to joining the Syncata group, he held various positions of responsibility in Tata Unisys, now Tata Infotech, a leading provider of software services in the International market. In his last position with Tata Unisys, Mr. Joshi managed the Sales and Marketing of its services in Eastern USA and Canada

He received his MBA in Marketing and Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India, where he was the recipient of the IOC Gold Medal for the Best
All-round Performance at the MBA program. He also holds an M.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering from IT-BHU, Varanasi.
He has been an active member of the sports teams at these institutes and was awarded the Institute Blue for outstanding performance in Volleyball at each of these institutes. He
has represented his college in sports and cultural competitions at various inter-IIT and inter-IIM meets.

Mr. Joshi is also one of the founding members and the Joint Secretary of ecomnetIndia (Electronic Communities Network of India), a non-profit body created in May 2000 to promote
awareness and education on electronic commerce, egovernance and related initiatives among the masses in India.

Mr. Joshi has lived and worked in France, Mexico, USA and India during his career. Mr. Joshi has reasonable familiarity with languages such as Spanish, French, German and Japanese. His extracurricular interests include travelling, reading and writing, beach volleyball, tennis and golf. He currently resides in NOIDA, India with his wife Hema and daughters Nidhi and Pallavi.


Rajeev Chawla [CSE 88]

chawla.jpg Rajeev Chawla is currently Founder, President & CEO of Neopath Networks. Prior to founding NeoPath Networks, Rajeev founded Ingrian Systems where he held positions of VP of Engineering, CTO, and VP of Advanced Technology. Rajeev built and led a successful organization that delivered Secure Content Networking Appliance product lines. Rajeev has more than 10 years of computer industry experience leading teams in various capacities.

Before Ingrian Networks, Rajeev led the successful launch of Secure Physician Portal at Healtheon/WebMD. Prior to that, Rajeev was at Sun Microsystems where he worked on next generation interactive Services over the Internet. He was a key member of the Sun Media Center, a video-on-demand server, and Sun Netra Proxy Cache Server product lines.

Rajeev possesses strong skills in strategic and tactical planning, industry and competitive analysis, product definition and positioning. In addition, Rajeev is a holder of 4 US patents and several awards. He received a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from Institute of Technology, BHU, India

Sanjay Dani CSE

Sanjay Dani is the CEO of Web Professionals, Inc. since its founding in 1995 as one of the first web hosting companies. From its offices in the US and India, Web Professionals offers 7x24 outsourcing of managed services for hosted infrastructure. After its acquisition by iAsiaWorks, Inc in 2000, Sanjay worked as the Vice President of iAsiaWorks' hosting business in the Asia Pacific. He was involved in launching Internet Data Centers in South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong. He also led, planned or completed acquisitions in India, Singapore and Australia as well as represented iAsiaWorks in acquisition and investment talks with telecommunications majors. Subsequently, he bought back the Web Professionals business.

Sanjay was involved in several Silicon Valley ventures in their early stage in various capacities: on the advisory board, a substantial advisory contributor or an initial investor in Cobalt Networks, Inc. (subsequently acquired by Sun Microsystems, Inc.), RLX Technologies, Berkeley Networks, Net Continuum, Accordion Networks and Caltos Capital.

In 2002, he started spending time on non-profit activities. He was a member of the Board of Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, rated among the top ten film festivals in the world. He started ITBHU.org over a lunch meeting with a fellow alumnus at the Cipotle Taqueria in Sunnyvale.

During 2003-2006, he organized initiatives to fight corruption and to improve governance in India. Deeply touched by the murder of fellow ITBHU alumnus Satyedra Kumar Dubey, a whistle blower against corruption in India's national highway project, Sanjay was a primary contributor to the Supreme Court petition that resulted in the Central Vigilance Commission being mandated to protect whistle blowers in India. He worked with like-minded people in India to promote accountability of Supreme Court and High Court judges who by various accounts sell decisions and abuse their constitutional independence to run extortion rackets with impunity.

Sanjay lives on the Nob Hill in San Francisco. He enjoys writing, traveling, running and meeting with dedicated and passionate people with a growth mindset from all walks of life.

Ujj Nath is the Co-Founder, President and Automotive Practice Leader of Syncata Corp., a business consulting and systems integration firm that helps automotive, industrial manufacturing, and automotive finance companies achieve breakthrough operational performance through innovative business and technology solutions.

Ujj provides the day-to-day leadership and strategic vision for the Automotive practices. Ujj has more than twenty years experience in automotive, management and technology, acquired at his own companies as well as at Drexel Burnham Lambert.

Ujj draws on his extensive background in business management, automotive, financial services and programming to provide clients with expert consultancy on business systems strategy, back-end enterprise level software integration, data warehousing and Internet technologies.

Ujj and his brother Aloke founded Syncata in 1990. Syncata helps leading Automotive, High-Tech Manufacturing, Financial Services and Insurance companies collaborate more effectively with their business partners, make more accurate decisions and respond faster to customer demand.

Prior to co-founding Syncata, Ujj worked for Drexel Burnham Lambert as an associate. He specialized in quantitative modeling and research. During his two-and-a-half year tenure at Drexel, Ujj was responsible for projects for Ted Turner, Rupert Murdoch, MCI, Merv Griffin, and others. He also created an exclusive database for Drexel, which enabled the company to track businesses, which were for sale, pairing them with potential buyers. One of the significant projects on which Ujj worked at Drexel was a worldwide satellite time purchase by Ted Turner to create CNN in 1987. Ujj and his team modeled the most efficient deal structure, taking into account local tax codes and regulations.

Ujj’s introduction to information technology came in 1984 while he was studying for his Master’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. He registered for computer science classes, hoping to expand his understanding of the then-nascent technology. After several courses, he switched from teaching chemistry to a programming position in the education department. There he worked on a project to determine the effectiveness of schools in relationship to funding and student-teacher ratios. Ujj programmed a data envelopment analysis which predicted those schools that would be most successful, and determined that their success was closely tied to student-teacher ratios.

In addition to his Master’s in Business Administration from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, Ujj holds a bachelor’s degree in general science from the Institute of Technology B.H.U. in Varanasi, India. Ujj currently sits on the Information Management Steering Committee at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin.

Ujj is currently leading the efforts to set up a Wireless LAN for the IT BHU Hostels.

Ujj lives with his wife and two daughters in Manhattan Beach,CA.
