TAC is going to conduct a workshop in G.N.N. Public School, Gorakhpur during the period of 1 Oct to 3 October '05. The workshop will be providing a handfull experience of scientific and technical things they have been taught theoretically to the students of class IX - XII.
Details:
This workshop comprises of Motor Boat Workshop, Straw Bridge Workshop and Robotics Workshop (Mouse Workshop).
In the motor boat workshop, the students will be making a motorboat out of scratch (like thermocol, electric motor, battery etc) which would help them know how the various things can be utilised in some innovative work.
In the Straw Bridge Workshop, they would be taught some of the basics of strength, stress and design, and they would have to make a design of a River Bridge which could hold the maximum weight out of limited number of Straws.
In the Mouse workshop, they would be taught the basic fundamentals of Robotics and mechanics. In this they would be able to see the Mechanics in a workable form. They have to make a mouse driven by two motors which could run effectively and along a wall line.
The various workshops conducted by the TAC in the institute and outside are as follows:
Mouse Workshop conducted for the B.Tech Part First
Technical Activity Center is a student body of likeminded students who prefer practical experience to the pedantic approach. It provides a medium to tap the immense potential and talent of the students of IT-BHU. It aims at the exposure of students to various branches of technology and to help them in finding their areas of interest. Through TAC, students have been working on varied areas from ROBOTICS to Management of Cultural Events.
1.We provide facilities in terms of knowhow, working space, instrumentation and finance to students interested in carrying out practical or theoretical engineering related activities.
2.We carry out workshops to transfer knowledge from those who have spent time and energy to learn something to other students who are beginners in the field so as to hasten the learning process. This allows the succeeding generation of students to move further in the fields.
3. TAC is also supporting and coordinating the following activities in BHU:
a) Astronomy Group
b) Aero-modelling Group
c) Electric Car Group
d) Robotics Group
4. We also carry out outstation workshops or consultancy to allow our students to develop interaction skills and to also develop an interest in engineering among the target student community.
5. Every year we help students develop models for All India Technical Events such as TECHNEX(IT-BHU), TECHKRITI(IIT-K), YANTRIKI(IIT-B) and many more. Some of these are submarine, PC to PC laser communication, robotic arm, hexapod, electric car.(For a complete list refer www.tacprojects.blogspot.com)
6. We help deserving students in arranging their Summer Training in renowned organisations like NIO (National Institute of Oceanography), IISc (Indian Institute of Science).
Astronomy Group is now restarted in IT-BHU by TAC with the help and contribution of our alumni and current students of IT-BHU.
It has been started with the objective to give the knowledge in the field of astronomy and about our vast Universe. Here the students are getting the opportunity to admire the stars and other celestial bodies along with discussions regarding the various thoughts which they feel about our existence and the space explorations.
For this we are having a Telescope which is used to view the Space.
Future Plans:
We plan to make an interface between Telescope and a computer so that the video of the space could be provided to all the students on the local intranet network.
We also plan to buy some more Telescopes with some more sophisticated instruments and devices.
Aeromodelling group is now restarted in IT-BHU by TAC with the help and contribution of our alumni and current students of IT-BHU.
It has been started with the basic aim of giving students the knowledge about aeromodelling and the fine details involved in the construction and testing of aeromodels.
Presently working on:
Construction of chuck models.
Construction of throw line model and testing.
Repairing of dilapidated models and engines which were used in earlier Aeromodelling Club few years ago.
Construction and flying of various Aero Models (RC Powerline model, Glider Model) with the help of four channel RC (Radio Controlled) set and an engine.
Details:
A RC set includes a radio signal transmitter and a receiver, a battery pack and four servos. So with the help of a RC set and engine we plan to fly the aeromodel over long distances. The whole aeromodel including RC set, engine acessories, engines and basic structure of model costs somewhat 25K.
RC Power model is faster and performs more complicated acrobatics. In this model we will be able to control the speed (thrust) which we can't in the glider model.
Future Programs:
To run a Chopper Model with the help of six channel RC set.
Use of Aero Models to have sky views of our institution with the help of digital signal processing.
