The System

The Advanced car security system (ACSS) aims to make the present car security systems more secure and reliable. The ACSS is an attachment to the existing central locking system of the car. It is an interface of car security system with DTMF (Dual tone multi frequency) TELEPHONE. The phone line for which has been fed from base terminal (which woks on CDMA technology and give output in DTMF mode). What this system does is, when there is a breach with the security of the car this system makes a phone call to you or to the Police Station And give the listener the complete identification of the car as colour, model and number of the car.

Peripheral Implementation

The process of making the phone call is a step-by-step procedure, which includes different steps as
1. Hanging up the phone.
2. Dialing a previously stored telephone number.
3.Playing the recorded message for stipulated time.
4.Then again hanging down the phone to redial the no.

All these have achieved using a DECADE COUNTER for which time period has been set using a timer IC which is producing a square pulse 7.5 sec.

Base Telephone and Tape-Recorder

• Simple Base phone has been used for which phone line has been fed from Wireless Base Terminal.
• For dialing purposes its redialing key has been connected to relay using Sl100 transistor.
• A tape recorder is used to play the already recorded message .The power supply of which is connected to a relay.

This can be attached in parallel to the central locking system (CLS) or independent to the CLS. This does not use the battery of the car so can act as 2nd step to car security after CLS.

The USP

The simple and low cost design of ACSS makes its fabrication easy and provides good value for money (It saves your car from being stolen.) the basic circuitry involved very simple just very few common IC`s are used and a base phone equipment is used which makes the system very affordable. The existing central locking systems of the cars can be installed with ACSS with just Rs.300.It is but obvious that the marketability of this project is really great. Moreover, if it is implemented on large scale the wireless base terminal we are using can be provided by any Mobile Company at a cost of Approx. Rs.1000/annum or less, which is meager in comparison to Rs12000 we used to pay to car insurance companies per year. Thus, it has very good commercial importance.

A Step Forward…

The system here we are demonstrated is just a prototype. It can be upgrade easily to have some avant-grade features as…

• By interfacing with a GSM or CDMA mobile phone the compactness of the system can be increased.
• Another very useful and spectacular advancement is to attach a GPS (Global Positioning System) to this system, which simultaneously locate the position of the car.

Till now this innovative technology has not been used commercially in India. However, GPS's are available in countries like U.K. which is used as a locater only. The diversity of our idea lies in the fact that we are using it for the security of car and preventing the car from being stolen.
