Aeromodelling group is now restarted in IT-BHU by TAC with the help and contribution of our alumni and current students of IT-BHU.
It has been started with the basic aim of giving students the knowledge about aeromodelling and the fine details involved in the construction and testing of aeromodels.
In the initial stages we have performed following activities.
Construction of chuck models.
Construction of throw line model and testing.
Repairing of dilapidated models and engines which were used in earlier Aeromodelling Club few years ago.
Presently we are working on the construction of a glider model known as Applebox.
In the near future we plan for following things
To aquire a new four channelRC (Radio Controlled) set and an engine. A RC set includes a radio signal transmitter and a receiver, a battery pack and four servos. So with the help of a RC set and engine we plan to fly the aeromodel over long distances. The whole aeromodel including RC set, engine acessories, engines and basic structure of model will cost somewhat 25K, thus we are looking for sponserships and more donations.
After completing the glider model we plan to introduce students to the basic concepts involved in aeromodelling by a series of workshops. This will include introduction to all the theoretical aspects of Aeromodelling. Interested students will be selected for future activities of Aeromodelling Group.
After glider model, we plan to go for a RC Power model, which is faster and performs more complicated acrobatics. In this model we will be able to control the speed (thrust) which we can't in the glider model.
At the completion of RC Power model we want to conduct workshops which will include the practical aspects of Aeromodelling.
