To help us reach out to the alumni, we felt that having a class / batch representative would be a good way to go. We would like people of each batch to come forward and nominate themselves or someone they think would be better for this.

The representative would be the one point contact for the people of his/her branch/year to contact and get information about the happenings at the Bangalore chapter. Though we would be posting all information available to us on the web but having representatives would make the networking part easier.

Hi All,

Here's a small step towards the foundation of IT-BHU Alumni, Bangalore Chapter.
This chapter will commence with a get-together on 8th Nov, 2003.
Place: Bangalore

We are expecting alumni from varied backgrounds and industries to attend the meet. It would be a nice networking opportunity to explore and hook-up with alumni who match your career and special interests. It will be a rare opportunity to reminisce on the old times and find out more about what is happening in Institute. However the most important would be: how the alumni can give back the institute its support by ideas, resources etc.

The agenda for the day will be:
· Introductions
· Dinner
· Recreational activities/team events and
· Brainstorming sessions on how to make the alumni association more useful in promoting networking between the alumni and deciding on the future events.
· A word about "Prayas", a non-profit organization set up by IT BHU alumni's, to look after infrastructure improvement of the institute.

NB: Since its Saturday evening people can join from close-by places (like Hyderabad, Chennai, Mangalore).

We are also expecting volunteers (atleast one from every class) to make sure that every one in his/her class knows about this event.

So please try joining your institute alumni meet and make it a success!

EVITES:
We'll be sending out the 'evites' (electronic invites) later. The purpose of evites is:
1. To facilitate better utilization of this opportunity by everyone, as we shall be collecting preliminary information on alumni title & job function from everyone, and posting a compilation before the event.
2. We'll also need everyone to RSVP number of people attending so that food & supplies can be arranged accordingly.
3. Evites can be forwarded to others and they can sign up for the event directly.

So please DO email us at bangalore_itbhu@yahoo.com so that we can send you the formal evite invitation.

A sum of Rs200-300 per head may be contributed at the venue (or prior) to cover the expenses for the event.

Now that we have a Banglore section on this site, we would request the alumni to let us know what all can we do here that would be helpful to the alumni. Please put in your suggestions as comments to this entry.

For instance we can have a category called events here which are local to the Bangalore chapter. These events are the events which the alumni organize just amongst friends like a trip to Jog Falls or a bike trip to Western Ghats ...

Let your creative juices flow .. come up with ideas .. lets see what we can do ...
