Success Stories

Dear Friends,
After a long wait, we have achieved our first milestone. A PC (with a CD Writer) has been delivered to MDC. We sent a draft of Rs. 21,328 in the favour of "Red Brook Trade Pvt. Ltd." to Dr. P. K. Mukherjee. The dealer is located in Mehmoor Ganj (Varanasi). They delivered the PC and Dr. Mukherjee handed over the draft to the dealer on Friday April 30, 2004. As I mentioned earlier, the CD writer will be useful to keep softwares, project reports, theses etc. in CD format in MDC. These documents and softwares will be very useful source of reference for the future students. The details of the PC are:

Intel Celeron 2.2 GHz Processor, 400MHz FSB,
128 KB Cache,
VIA Motherboard with LAN,
128 MB DDR 333 SDRAM,
40 GB HDD (7200 RPM),
1.44 MB FDD,
Onboard Integrated Graphics,
Onboard AC97, 3D Audio,
Onboard 10 / 100 Ethernet LAN,
OA 68 (1) CD Writer
Set of Stereo Speakers (Kinyo – Small),
Minitower Cabinet,
Scroll Mouse(Non Logitech),
107 Keys Keyboard,
15" Colour Monitor,

I would like to thank all the people who donated for this project. Also many thanks to Shiv Shankar Maurya (ECE-98) and Amit Mahajan (ECE-99) for their tireless efforts in collecting the money and sending the draft. Last but not the least, thanks to all the volunteers of ECE website - Rajeev, Debraj and Mukul. Hopefully with your support and cooperation we'll execute more projects to improve the infrastructure and quality of education in IT-BHU.
Regards,

From the Current Students

Dear Seniors,
As one of the students-in-charge of MDC, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitute to all of you for your generous contributions. I still can't believe that we managed to get a computer. I promise you that we will do whatever we can to make sure that it is used for the benefit of the maximum number of students of electronics, in the best possible way.
Unfortunately due to exams, we haven't been doing anything in the MDC this month. But in the next year, we are going to have a number of events lined up for 1st year and 2nd year students. The computer can be put to a lot of uses, such as:

* Simulation of circuits (as the CDS is currently unavailable)
* Teaching C/C++/LINUX to 1st year students
* Project work for any student who doesn't have a computer in his room
* Storing important information like tutorials, softwares and datasheets
* Interfacing experiments
* PCB design
* and lots of other stuff

Once again, thanks to all the people who have taken such a keen interest in doing something for the students and for the institute.

Regards,
Vishal Mehta
