The state-of-the-art department has been given the status of Centre of Advanced Studies by the UGC for its continuing excellence. The department hosts three huge independent research centres of UGC presently being coordinated by world renowned personalities (Prof. B. N. Basu and Prof. B. B. Paul).

The department hosts ten independent research laboratories. All the laboratories are fully air conditioned and are equipped with the latest instruments. The curriculum of B.Tech. program includes successful completion of latest experiments in these laboratories.

This virtually self-contained department hosts two workshops.

The department has a relatively small but excellent library to cater the specific needs of electronics students.

6. Visiting Faculty Complex

The department hosts one state-of-the-art visiting faculty complex. This complex includes two comfortable air conditioned rooms with all modern amenities, one conference room and one hall for the visiting faculty.
