Bausch & Lomb Names Praveen Tyle, Ph.D., Senior Vice President - Research & Development and Chief Scientific Officer

July 19, 2004 - Bausch & Lomb (NYSE:BOL) today announced that Praveen Tyle, Ph.D., is the global eye health company's senior vice president - Research & Development and chief scientific officer.

He received a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the Ohio State University in 1984 and a bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, India, in 1980.

Abhik Mitra, appointed Managing Director of TNT India

Abhik is a Chemical Engineering graduate from Institute of Technology, BHU.

After completing his graduation he joined Hindustan Lever Ltd. as a Management Trainee where he spent twelve years rising up the management rank. Subsequently he joined RPG Enterprises and was the General Manager of the Strategic Planning group before being assigned to Ceat, Sri Lanka, as its Managing Director. After a successful stint of four years in Sri Lanka, he returned to the RPG group as Managing Director of Saregama India (erstwhile HMV Ltd.). Along with this position he also served as President and CEO of RPG's Entertainment Sector and a Member of the RPG Management Board till joining TNT India recently.

IT BHU Alumnus joins Datacraft board

Datacraft, Singapore's leading independent IT services company, has appointed LC Singh as an independent member of its board of directors.

Mr. Singh is an alumnus of Institute of Technology, BHU and Harvard Business School.

Mr Singh is currently the President and CEO of Nihilent Technologies, a CMM Level 4 certified solution integration company that he helped establish three years ago. His career includes stints with State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Zensar Technologies. At TCS, he spent 18 years. As Senior Vice President, he was responsible for the Company's business in the UK, South Africa and Middle East. As President and CEO of Zensar Technologies, he was responsible for restructuring of the company and getting it assessed at CMM Level 5.
