Students and Faculty March Silently
ITBHU.org Editor @ 01:45 PM

Reports of this extraordinary event are just trickling in.

On Saturday November the 8th, 2003, ITBHU students and the faculty including the director reportedly walked in a silent march from the Malaviya Bhawan to the Sankat Mochan. It included approximately 1500 students and faculty (!?). It was reportedly covered on the Star News, Sahara Samay and Aaj Tak.

The march was organized to show support for converting ITBHU into an IIT. We will appreciate links to any online news coverage of this event.

ITBHU.org and AIBA Join Hands
ITBHU.org Editor @ 11:48 PM

The New Delhi-based Association of IT BHU Alumni has been doing an outstanding job fostering alumni communication and liasing with the institute, BHU and the Malaviya Mission in New Delhi. Led by Arvind Gupta and Debashish Bhattacharya, the AIBA has been busy with behind-the-scenes lobbying in the corridors of power in New Delhi to convert ITBHU into an IIT.

It was only natural that we join hands and work closely with the AIBA folks. On the immediate IITization project, we put together a joint action plan starting with the ITBHU.org strategy and AIBA's online petition initiative. The organizers of both organizations conduct regular email and phone conferences to strengthen each other's efforts and avoid duplication of efforts.
